Beautiful Black and Pearl Pica Magpie Turbo Shells are Beautifully polished- hints of white pearl and shiny black. Also known as Cittarium pica seashells, magpie shells, Arapica shells, West Indian top shell, pica shells, turbos, turban & medium hermit crab shells. They are used for hermit crab shells, and in shell crafts, such as making mirrors, ornaments and candles.
The shells are very thick & heavy with natural pearlized colors when polished.
These shells have been polished and some of them will have a pearl bands on the shells.
They are medium shells measuring 1.5- 2.5" in size and you will recieve a SINGLE shell. In some Spanish-speaking parts of the Caribbean, where they are used as a food source Cittarium pica is known as caracoles (snails, in Spanish)as bulgao. In Venezuela it is called quigua; in Cuba it is called cigua. The openings on this lot of shells are between 3/4" and 1 1/8"
